About Us
Wild Tree is a community inspired space whose purpose is to support health and local creativity. We hold a "triple bottom line" philosophy and regard Profit, People, and Planet as vital to our success. Above the door to our café are the words, "Think Globally, Eat Locally." We believe that our world becomes healthier one community at a time.
Rooted in Evanston, Illinois, the Wild Tree vision has grown many branches: a café, an organic co-op, sustainable catering, and a non-profit called "Food from the Heart." These branches come together to create a healthy, delicious, and affordable place to eat, drink, and build community.
Our café has a long term vision of environmental sustainability. Since becoming a sustainable small business doesn't happen overnight, we have started with weekly recycling, natural lighting, zero-VOC paint, organic and fair trade products, recyclable coffee cups, local vendors, energy efficient equipment, and virtually no food waste (thanks to our co-op).
